Looking back on five memorable days of creativity, culture and connection in Sofia!

Looking back on five memorable days of creativity, culture and connection in Sofia!

From 24 to 28 August 2026, the European Development Foundation had the pleasure of hosting a group of 10 senior learners from Poland for an Erasmus+ group mobility organised in partnership with Fundacja Instytut Re-Integracji Społecznej.

The programme combined creative learning, cultural discovery, wellbeing and meaningful interaction. Participants kept personal learning diaries filled with memories from the week, drew wonderfully expressive portraits of one another, worked with air-dry clay and planted succulents, created their own lavender sachets, and enjoyed shared activities in Borisova Gradina.

Beyond the workshops, the mobility created a welcoming space in which participants could try something new, exchange stories, support one another and experience Bulgarian culture together.

We sincerely thank Fundacja Instytut Re-Integracji Społecznej for trusting us as the host organisation, and every participant for the warmth, curiosity, creativity and good humour they brought to Sofia. It was a genuine pleasure to welcome you to Bulgaria and become part of your learning journey. 💙
